Opis
Two thousand games, six decades and one remarkable football life - Brian Horton's story is English football in full.
From a respected captain, manager and assistant whose journey spans the World Cup summer of 1966 to the Premier League era.
Bought by Port Vale from non-league Hednesford for the price of a pint of shandy, Horton became a Brighton legend, led Luton and Hull, managed Oxford and kept Manchester City in the Premier League. Later, he returned to the top flight with Hull as Phil Brown's trusted lieutenant.
Inside you will discover:
The unglamorous beginnings and the leadership that defined his playing career
Managerial highs at Oxford, Hull and Manchester City's top-flight survival
Spells across Huddersfield, Brighton, Port Vale and Macclesfield
The enduring coaching partnership with Phil Brown through to retirement in 2018
A warm, insightful memoir from one of the game's great servants - told with candour, humour and heart.
